Microsoft Patch Tuesday

5 Jan 2009

I have spoken to a number of our users about the problems that Microsoft have faced with regards Internet Explorer. One thing that has come up on more than one occasion is that most people are not aware that Microsoft have a patch cycle. This means that new patches are generally released on a Tuesday, so we get these (in the UK) overnight for everyone to use Wednesday morning. [so that’s why my computer has been rebooted when I get to my desk, with a Skinny Mocha Latte on Wednesday mornings!]

Its because of this patch cycle that in its self determines the release into the wild of attacks,

exploiting vulnerability.

This seems to have come as a bit of a shock to some of our OpenCRM users and has warranted a news update email on this subject, to try and keep our users informed.

Just as a point of interest, thats all.
