I want some extra information showing on my product grids on Quotes, Sales Orders and Invoices, how can I do this in OpenCRM?

The product grids on Quotes, Sales Orders and Invoices in OpenCRM allow for the addition of up to ten extra columns which will each contain one field.  These can be activated from the "Product Grid Custom Column Settings" from within the Studio settings

The custom columns can have data in a number of different types:

  • Number - a text input field which will only accept numerical input
  • Text area - a box similar to the description box
  • Drop-Down - a drop down box with a number of options.  The options in these need to be customised through the relevant pick list settings
  • Checkbox
  • Date field - a date box with a calendar picker
  • Text box - a normal text field to allow any characters

The setup screen for each module looks like the following:

The items in the column name fields can be edited to display something more relevant to the field.  The text in this box will be the title of the column on the product grid.  The column type specifies the type of field which will be displayed in that column.  Setting the option to "None" will turn the field off.

The information entered into these will be carried over to the others upon conversion only if the corresponding field is turned on for the module being converted to i.e. if custom column 1 and 2 are turned on in quotes, but only custom column 1 is turned on in Sales Orders, when you convert from a quote to a sales order only the data from the field in custom column 1 will be carried across.
