ISECOM - Making sense of security.

ISECOM is an open, collaborative, security research community established in January 2001. In order to fulfill its mission focus to apply critical thinking and scientific methodology to all facets of security, ISECOM is chartered as a commercial-free and non-partisan organization. ISECOM is a non-profit organization registered in both New York, USA, and Barcelona, Spain. The ISECOM Board of Directors reflects 6 countries representing thousands of members and volunteers from around the world.

The Institute for Security and Open Methodologies (ISECOM) is an open-source collaborative community since January 2001 with non-profit status in the USA and Spain. We are dedicated to providing practical security awareness, research, certification and business integrity. ISECOM provides certification, training support, and project support services for non-partisan and vendor-neutral funding of our projects and infrastructure and to assure you our training programs, standards, and best practices are truly neutral of national or commercial influence.

Founded originally as the Ideahamster Organization for generating security-centric inventions for the open source community, we continue to provide collective information and tools under the open licenses under the Open Source Initiative and the Open Methodology License for free public dissemination. Our main technical team members are still known as "ideahamsters" which is a term used to describe a person who is always providing creative and new ideas.

The determination of our research is to provide practical methods and measurements for security and integrity of any scale from the boardroom to the high school classroom. For this, ISECOM works closely with schools, universities, businesses, and government agencies to assure all research provided is peer-reviewed for the highest quality.
