Can I customise the sidebar elements on my screen? How do I do this?

Updated: 11 March 2015 12:11:59 OpenCRM::Home OpenCRM::Helpdesk::FAQ OpenCRM::Settings OpenCRM::Settings::Users

We have a new feature that allows you to customise the sidebar elements on your OpenCRM screen.

This is done simply by going into your personal account settings (The My Account button at the top of the screen), then selecting Homepage Settings. The screen shows you the sidebar elements, in the order that they appear on your screen, in the green box. The elements you currently are not using are in the grey box below. Drag and drop the elements to reposition them as suits your needs. you can use as many or as little of these elements as you like.

Don't forget that you can also collapse the sidebar completely, by clicking the small green arrows on the edge of the left side of the screen. this will expand the rest of the screen for you, and is useful for example if you are using a smaller screen. You can restore the sidebar at any time by clicking again on the arrows.

Creative Writing in B…

The other week, Abi talked about how she, as a designer, has been influenced by various fashions and trends in the design world. A lot of our branding is inspired by this metro style (and our creeples, of course), but there is another side to the way we advertise OpenCRM as a CRM system and as a company - content. The moment you land on a marketing tips website or blog, you will be bombarded with the idea that ‘content is...

A Brew With…Rowena Le…

This month we are talking to our very own PR team, Rowena Lee PR, who help us spread all of our good news around Richmond and beyond. Who is Rowena Lee PR? Rowena Lee PR was set up in December 2013 by founder, Rowena Lee. The 27-year-old had been working in the PR and communications industry for seven years before deciding to take a bold step and set-up her own company. More than 18 months on, the team has grown from just...

Top Tips for Encourag…

In my role as Project Manager here at OpenCRM, I get to see some wildly varying uses of the system. I have some clients that use the whole system - from lead to sale to support and all stops in between, whereas others focus on one specific aspect of OpenCRM, for example, using the system to manage Helpdesk enquiries. Regardless of how you plan to use of the system, one of the challenges facing your team will be gaining the full...

What influences UX an…

User experience and user interface design is no different to all other areas of design in that it works in balance with the fashions and culture of the day. Some of this might be subconscious - a designer may not even be aware of their inspiration, while others will be purposefully following the trends to see what can inspire their next piece. Either way, a designer’s inspiration will come from their immediate environment – books and blogs they have read...

The trends of 2015…so…

It’s hard to believe that we’re almost halfway through 2015, just a few more days people! It’s always interesting to watch the year unfold in business – there are always predications on what is going to be popular, what growth we can expect and how businesses will perform. To mark this milestone, I thought I would take a look at some of what I’ve found to be the most interesting trends of 2015 so far. All of these have taken...

Confidence is Key

I was always a nervous student when it came to sitting exams. Something about the quiet pressure of the situation really got to me but I was able to overcome that fear and excel in my chosen subject. However I do have one vivid memory during a maths test that shook me to my core. I had prepared, you always think I could have done more but I would have said I was ready for the exam. But my final mark...

Business Super Hero o…

You may not have heard of June’s #BusinessSuperHero of the Month but you have definitely heard of his business. Five years ago this month, Travis Kalanick started Uber in San Francisco as a way for people to quickly and easily find/hail/book a taxi from their mobile phone. Fast forward to today and it has grown into an international transportation company, operating in 300 cities and 58 countries. It is valued at more than $40billon – not bad for five years...

Sun, Sea, Surf and CR…

I have just come back from holiday. I already miss the heat of the sun but I am really lucky to have brought some back with me, it seems! I was looking forward to exploring the south of Spain, however once there, my brain couldn’t help but still think of work and home. It's just what I do. I see people and situations that could benefit from our product and I want to help. When I was on the beach one day...

The Countdown Commenc…

In business, standing still is not an option. You always need to push for better, which is why we are in the middle of developing our next release of OpenCRM. Of course if I told exactly what is being developed for ‘V4’ I would have to kill you, so let’s just say it’s a new and improved version of what we currently have. Clever – We want to create a system that is reflective of modern day UX standards. We are no...

Yorkshire Three Peaks…

Ow - I am hurting this morning. I was hurting yesterday and I expect I will be hurting for the rest of the week. (Actually, I’m not as bad as I thought I’d be…all those training walks must have done some good.) If you’ve been on our website at any time over the last couple of months, you’ve probably heard that, as a company, we decided to tackle the Yorkshire Three Peaks in aid of the charity Papyrus. We took our challenge...

From The Archive: Fro…

A CRM implementation is often brought in to address a specific customer pain point. This might be nurturing Leads, raising product awareness amongst your customer base, tracking customer activity, or improving customer service. None of these issues are mutually exclusive, as a cloud CRM software solution is designed to bring all these operations under one roof. Data you have captured on the lead journey is likely to have a long-term value, giving you tools to segment your customer data moving forward. Email...

EU Data Reform

As far back as 2011, the European Union was starting to look into developing a new framework for bringing data protection regulations in line with technological achievements. Four years on and we are still eagerly awaiting the final release. It has been confirmed that this will happen this year, but as we are almost halfway through 2015 – what a thought – companies are starting to get itchy about preparing for the big changes that have been rumoured. The good news...

Y3P: 5 Reasons Why Pe…

We’ve all had those days where are heads are down, our focus is on meeting that day’s sales target or just getting through that relentless to do list. But even on those days (maybe especially on those days)it is important to remember that people matter. The people around you - be they your siblings, parents, colleagues or even the person serving you your morning paper – sometimes need a little attention. We all need maintenance. We need a refresh, a kind word...

Y3P: Countdown

With only four sleeps to go until we face off against the heavyweight giants that are Pen-y-Ghent, Whernside and Ingleborough, final preparations are well under way and nerves are starting to settle in. We have spent months training and honing our bodies for this gruelling 26 mile Y3P challenge. Even the fittest of us, myself included, have worked hard to gradually build up the muscle groups required to ensure our bodies are prepared and limit the risk of injury. As we are now...

Y3P: Bringing Everyon…

Today marks the start of an exciting week for OpenCRM and friends. On Saturday a team of us are tackling the Yorkshire Three Peaks challenge walk, aiming to complete the marathon circuit in under twelve hours. I am looking forward to this for a number of reasons. Firstly and foremost, the spirit is going to be great. Support, developers, projects, sales, account managers and even the bosses; everyone is on an even keel here as we get together and offer each...
