Can I customise the sidebar elements on my screen? How do I do this?

Updated: 11 March 2015 12:11:59 OpenCRM::Home OpenCRM::Helpdesk::FAQ OpenCRM::Settings OpenCRM::Settings::Users

We have a new feature that allows you to customise the sidebar elements on your OpenCRM screen.

This is done simply by going into your personal account settings (The My Account button at the top of the screen), then selecting Homepage Settings. The screen shows you the sidebar elements, in the order that they appear on your screen, in the green box. The elements you currently are not using are in the grey box below. Drag and drop the elements to reposition them as suits your needs. you can use as many or as little of these elements as you like.

Don't forget that you can also collapse the sidebar completely, by clicking the small green arrows on the edge of the left side of the screen. this will expand the rest of the screen for you, and is useful for example if you are using a smaller screen. You can restore the sidebar at any time by clicking again on the arrows.

Fusing Creativity and…

There does seem to be a fair amount of myths and legends interlaced into the software development industry; cloud hosted CRM being something to do with meteorology for instance, or that only geeks and people with impenetrably high IQs could contemplate trying to code or even that the internet itself is this intangible magical identity, which is incomprehensible to the common Muggle… In reality, although the industry definitely has within it some incredible talent, it really is made up of normal...

Business Super Hero o…

May’s #BusinessSuperhero goes the ultimate entrepreneur, Elon Musk, the engineer, inventor, and investor. On his lengthy CV are the following titles: founder, CEO, and CTO of SpaceX, chairman of SolarCity, as well as co-founder of both Tesla Motors and PayPal Inc. – phew, what a list. Elon has been picked as our business superhero for May because, out of all the current entrepreneurs, I’d say he is the best example of somebody who defines entrepreneurship. He helped build PayPal and...

Fitness Novice to Fun…

The past ten days have been exceptionally active for the team at OpenCRM. We achieved our best last week in clocking up 117 miles for "Walk to Work Week" and the weekend prior to this, a bunch of us tackled a 15 mile practice walk ahead of our "Yorkshire 3 Peaks" challenge. Now get that image out of your head! We are not all Lycra clad, muscle bound gym worshippers- well maybe one or two of us come close to that stereotype. But the...

North Yorkshire Rebra…

Once upon a time, it was cities that dictated the pace of progress, pushing change and the evolution of society. Now this can no longer be taken for granted, and the countryside is biting back! Technological businesses today are just at home whether in a city loft or a converted barn in the middle of nowhere. Urbanisation is not a new phenomenon. When the industrial and agricultural revolutions got underway, people started moving to industrial cities and larger towns in their...

Walk this way

So our #walktowork week is over. 117 miles later and what a week it has been. It does seem that all we talk about here at the moment is walking, perhaps the outside world might be getting the impression that we are all just a group of country bumpkins. But to tell the truth we kind of are, just with a little twist of tech, web and CRM saviness, and why not? There are many positives to working up North; not only...

Multi-Channel Custome…

As a former Customer Service Manager and a lady of a certain age, I remember when customer service meant being sat behind a desk, Monday to Friday, 9am to 5pm, dealing with a queue of customers who had questions or complaints.   Long gone are those “good old days”.   Today, customers have many different types of technology and applications at their disposal. Thanks to this, the task of providing an integrated and successful customer service experience is now the ultimate challenge to any...

4 Ways Of Improving Y…

You might have a great product. A fantastic sales team. State of the art manufacturing. An understanding and caring telephone support team. A beautiful website. Surely all of the above are the makings of a great success story? However if those individual elements don’t come together and work in fusion, it’s like having a pile of jigsaw puzzle pieces and no image on the box telling you what you are supposed to see. Bringing those individual pieces together means increasing business...

A Brew With…Y3P

Here at OpenCRM, we do enjoy a good chinwag – who doesn’t? So each month we are going to have #ABrewWith an organisation, business, or a particular individual that we blooming love! This month we are talking to our very own #Y3P team. These guys are planning some major fundraising in June…have a read below to find out what’s going on from our Richmond hub. What is #Y3P? #Y3P is a group of individuals from OpenCRM and Arch, the Durham Recovery...

Top Five Ways To Comm…

In our day and age, communication and its methods of delivery have become so varied that just a simple letter sometimes just does not do. Letters are now known to be official, or “out dated” method of communication. In a successful business, we need to identify how best to communicate with a busy and pressured team, without losing time and efficiency. Here at the OpenCRM office we have five, (yes five!!) ways of communications with one another. Face to Face A conversation...

Welcome to the World …

A long time ago in an office far, far away, two members of the OpenCRM marketing team were busy thinking of ideas on how they could demonstrate their company’s cloud hosted CRM software to potential customers in the best way possible. Putting themselves in the shoes of their leads, they thought what if we could have ‘personas’ who people choose to view the system, through their eyes? In other words, these digital personas will allow the User to experience a fully customised...

From The Archive: See…

A large database on a CRM solution contains a massive amount of information. To sort through this and filter and search for records you need potentially means a lot of work. This is where using Views comes into effect. Views are essentially pre-saved searches, offering the results you need without having to go through the search. This means you can create endless numbers of views and filter the data as precisely as you need. Want a list of Invoices that are...

Blossoming Questions

As Microsoft announced their proposed launch date for Windows 10 this week, it got me thinking about our upcoming launch of OpenCRM V4 and whether or not our customers have the same burning questions that Microsoft clients have regarding this latest version of Windows. Is the OpenCRM customer silently asking questions like the following: Will this updated version function in a similar way? How will my experience change as the user? And for my company overall? /li> Have familiar and long established functions...

Are You Making the Mo…

When it comes to cloud CRM systems, it can be difficult to choose which one is the perfect match for your company. We get that, what we find with a lot of our clients is that they might have a CRM program in place, but due to a lack of understanding, customer care and training it is not being used to its potential. It unfortunately happens all too often. Something we all agree on is that a CRM system can...

Embedding new starter…

It’s always interesting when new people start at work. Often when a team has worked together for a long time, habits set in and everyone is used to a certain daily office routine. This can be difficult to change, as new arrivals won’t want to upset the apple cart but would rather slip quietly into the scenery. But at the same time this can bring a disruptive element and not necessarily a negative one. You have a rare opportunity to re-assess...
