Walk this way

18 May 2015

So our #walktowork week is over.

117 miles later and what a week it has been. It does seem that all we talk about here at the moment is walking, perhaps the outside world might be getting the impression that we are all just a group of country bumpkins. But to tell the truth we kind of are, just with a little twist of tech, web and CRM saviness, and why not?

There are many positives to working up North; not only do we have a brilliant arts and culture scene, modest cost of living and by reputation for a great sense of humour, but we are in general surrounded by beautiful countryside.

We have an office full of staff from different backgrounds and areas of life (and the world); it is this diversity, which creates a brilliant environment for creative thinking and appreciation for the great things that the world has to offer.

I myself have only ever lived in the North, so I am biased and arguably naïve, but I do love being able to take part in #walktowork week and have beautiful countryside to walk through on my doorstep; this sentiment is thankfully shared by my colleagues. I love the fact that as our team grows, our staff socials get bigger and better.

We now have a lovely selection of us (Team #Y3P) who are happily taking up any opportunity to pull our walking boots on and walk our way up, down and across the beautiful Yorkshire Dales. Not a bad place to have at your doorstep?

Overall this #walktowork week has been a nice little training exercise for our larger Yorkshire Three Peak Challenge in June, but it has also helped remind the team here that the opportunities to be more eco-friendly and healthy -both in mind and body- are always there just waiting to be grabbed with both hands (and feet!).
